No scare for Bugle on Halloween

Bugle ‘A’ have moved to the top of the Victory League after thrashing Bethel A 4-1 which was played on Monday night due to Bugle’s Halloween commitments.

Gary Spencer knocked in a a fine 41 break when seeing off Matt Green. Wins followed for Ian Ball and Jake Moore with Andrew Best having a 36 when defeating Andy Peers. Geoff Hawken breezed past Paul Sturtridge for the home point.

Mevagissey D took out their A team 3-2 to snatch their first win. Mark Ashton and Paul Williams traded frames with the D team, going ahead through Ian Latham’s re-spot black win over Phil Staley The win was confirmed when Rich Lakeman knocked in a 30 to defeat Matt Mills. James Popplewell also had a 30 break beating Rob Blamey for the A teams second point.

Mevagissey B recovered from last weeks hammering by defeating Pelynt 3-2. It started well for the away side as Richard Broad beat Nathan Shaw. Mark Gregory and Matt Rowe put Meva ahaead but Andy Parnell beat Ben Rothwell to level. It was Dave Kendall who saw off Phil Ormond with an excellent display to seal the win.

St Blazey picked up a useful win at Bugle B through Liam Reynolds, Nick Kendall and Chris Morford with Colin and Dave Rundle replying for Bugle.

Tregonissey B and St Neot was postponed

Mevagissey C march on at the top of the Rees League after their fifth win of the season, this time at Lerryn. Matt and Joe Chesterfield alongside ‘Hellfire’ Evans secured the victory with Terry Middleton pipping Ben Prynn by a point and Matt Woodward’s win over ‘Predator’ Tregale getting the home points.

Bugle C picked up four good points at Lostwithiel. Phil Johns, Roy Bayliss, Mo Rescorla and Kevin Spencer took frames which Bugle up to mid-table with games in hand over all above. Craig Nicholls replied for the home side.

Chris Brown knocked in a cracking 35 break as St Stephen overcame Gorran 3-2. Ady Bowyer and Anthony Garside secured the other home points with Mike Towsey and Andy Reddall replying.

Bethel D with a 4-1 win at Tregonissey C. Lee Searle, Dave Morshead, Jason Pascoe and Dayle Dyche winning. Amanda Fleming got the home point with a victory over Ross McMenemy.
