New leaders at the top of the Victory League

Mevagissey ‘A’ have taken over at the top of the Victory League after thrashing Bethel ‘A’ 4-1.

Matt Green’s blackball win over Phil Staley got the away side off to a good start, but Matt Mills defeated Leon ‘The Hatman’ in the next and further wins for James Popplewell, Leighton Varcoe and Paul Williams, who knocked in a 54 break, lifted the Seasiders to the summit.

Tregonissey ‘A’ took four points at home to Mevagissey ‘B’ through Ryan Bilson, Barrie McIntosh (30 break), Jason Cocks and Rich Pearson – with Ben Rothwell knocked in a 30 whilst defeating Martin Knight for Meva’s welcome point.

Tregonissey ‘B’ picked up two good points at St Blazey through Mike Hooley and Andrew Gooch with Simon Garrington having a 31 break when losing to Chris Morford, Liam Reynolds and Mickey Meares got the home side’s other points to lift them to fourth.

Mevagissey ‘D’ got a great win at St Neot. They are finding their feet in the top league and wins for Scott Mills, Ian Latham and Mark Ashton secured the win with Darren Lock and Steve Courts, who knocked in a 48, getting the points.

Pelynt and Bugle ‘B’ fought out a tight affair with Richard Broad pipping Mark Sturtridge in the first and Phil Ormand putting them 2-0 up, Dave Rundle replied.

But ‘Mr Consistent’ Andy Parnell got the win with Keith Moore hammering Lenny Flowers in the last to get Bugle’s second point.

Rees League leaders Mevagissey ‘C’ had a night off so it allowed St Stephen to close the gap with a brilliant 4-1 win at Bethel ‘D’. Anthony Harrison, Anthony Garside and Chris Brown, and a walkover got St Stephen’s points, with Jason Pascoe replying for Bethel.

Lostwithiel picked up a good win at Gorran, through Mark McGurrell, Josh Doherty and Terry Nicholls with Rob Bunney continuing his unbeaten run and back from his holiday, Lee McKinstry, getting the home points.

Bethel ‘C’ raced into a 3-0 lead at Bugle ‘C’ but Roy Bayliss and Damien Knight got the last two frames to put a bit of respectability to the result.
Bethel ‘C’ and Treggy ‘C’ is to be played on November 22.
