Bouncing back to take all the frames

Tregonissey ‘A’ bounced back from last week’s surprise defeat to their ‘B’ team by taking all five frames at Mevagissey ‘A’ – a result which leaves Meva’s title hopes hanging by a thread.
Barrie McIntosh knocked in a 36 break whilst defeating Leighton Varcoe and there were also wins for Jason Cocks, Jason Simmons, Richard Pearson and Ryan Bilson.
Big wins for Jake Moore, Andrew Best (61 break) and Ian Ball put Bugle ‘A’ 3-0 up against their ‘B’ team. Dave Rundle pulled one back defeating Paul Sturtridge but Gary Spencer beat Mark Sturtridge in a low-scoring final frame to seal a fine win.
Bethel ‘A’ remain third after getting the better of St Blazey winning two blackball frames to help clinch a 4-1 win. Liam Reynolds potted superbly to defeat Leon Collard but wins for Garry Stephens, Matt Green, Geoff Hawken and Andy Peers sealed the victory.
Tregonissey ‘B’ followed up last week’s maiden victory with another win this time over Mevagissey ‘B’. Andrew Gooch, Simon Garrington and Phil Hooley put them 3-0 up with Meva replying through Dave Kendall and Matt Rowe, who knocked in a 33.
Tony Farrant had a 34 break to help St Neot get the better of Pelynt with a 3-2 win. Matt Vessey and Darren Lock also registered with Len Flower and Phil Ormond replying.
Bethel ‘C’ have moved joint top of the Rees League courtesy of a 4-1 win at Lostwithiel. Mark McGurrel took the home point beating Leigh Rosevear on the black, with Roger Smithson, Courtney Crockford, Howard Brett and Ben Stunnell victorious for the visitors.
Joint leaders Mevagissey ‘C’ went 2-0 down at home to Bethel ‘D’ as Jason Pascoe and Gavin Dyche got the visitors off to a flier but fortunes turned as Joe and Matt Chesterfield defeating Dave Morshead and Ross McMenemy to level things up, with Adrian Evans defeating Dayle Dyche for victory and keeping their hands on the Runabout Shield.
Lerryn went 2-0 up at Tregonissey ‘C’ through Graham Hoskin and Luke Shakespear but the evening turned right around as Alan Meades, Michael Edwards and Cal Stephens sealed Treggy’s second win of the season.
St Stephen came down to earth with a bump after last week’s maximum with a 4-1 defeat at Bethel ‘B’. Chris Brown (walkover) claimed their only win as Guy Buckle, Clive Stuthridge, Jim Tamblyn and Richie Bolt sealed the win to move them up to fourth.

Mark Sturtridge put Bugle ‘B’ ahead at Mevagissey ‘B’ defeating Matt Chesterfield. The home side then reeled of three on the trot through Ben Rothwell, Matt Rowe and Nathan Shaw with Dave Rundle knocking in a majestic 35 break to get the second away point.
